Membership is open to licensed dentists who practice, live, or teach in Kern County. KCDS does not offer auxiliary or student memberships.
KCDS is a local component of the California Dental Association (CDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). Membership in KCDS automatically includes membership in both CDA and ADA.
Members gain access to continuing education seminars, networking opportunities, practice support, classified listings, advocacy at the local and state levels, and complimentary Notary Public services (excluding real estate documents).

Membership applications are completed through CDA’s online portal. Once approved, you will receive confirmation and membership credentials.
KCDS membership categories include Active, Life Active, Retired, Life Retired, 1st–6th Year Grad Member, Post Graduate, Federal Service, and Permanent Disability.
Yes. Members may contact KCDS directly or make changes through their member portal on CDA.org to facilitate a transfer.
Members receive renewal notices annually from CDA. You can renew online through the CDA website or by contacting KCDS for guidance.
